FAQ'S

What is your minimum stay?

Minimum stay is 7 nights, Saturday to Saturday. Check-in time is 3pm and check-out time is 11am.

During non-peak season we may be able to accommodate a 4 night minimum stay if available, so please do ask.

 

How do we get there?

Fly in to North Eleuthera Airport (ELH) take a quick taxi ride to the dock, hop a quick water taxi to

Harbour Island Government Dock. Remember your passport, you will need it.

 

How do we get to the house?

Taxis await at the Government Dock where they can run you to the house in minutes.

 

Do we need to rent a golf cart?

Yes. While Aralia House is within walking distance to many things, you will want to rent a golf cart

to get around, grab groceries, explore.

Are dining reservations recommended?

Yes, they are recommended especially during busy holidays.

Before your arrival we will share our Harbour Island Guide with you which includes restaurant info.

Some restaurants will require a credit card to hold the booking, others will not.

Are there private chefs available?

Yes. Contact information provided prior to arrival. 

​

Can you drink the tap water?

Not recommended. We provide 2 large water jugs to get you started. Instructions for refills are provided.

​

What currency can I use?

The Bahamian dollar is 1:1 with the US dollar. Use either interchangeably.

There is a Royal Bank of Canada on the island housing an ATM in its atrium.

​

Do most places take credit cards?

Yes, although Amex less often. Some places are cash only including some excursions

so it is good to have both cash and a Visa or Mastercard handy.

Can we bring our pet to your house?

No. While we love furry friends we do not allow pets at this time. 

​

Can we smoke in your house?

No. Aralia House is a non-smoking property.

 

Is there a generator?

Yes we have a generator that comes on automatically during a power outage,

which does happen from time to time.

How close is the beach? 

The pink sand is less than 2 minutes by golf cart . (1 minute, 46 seconds to be exact). 

If you fancy a walk it  is an easy 5 minutes. Access via the stairs next to OVC.​

​

Can we request groceries / liquor ahead of time?

Yes. We are happy to put you in touch with someone to provision for you prior to your arrival.

Note about Sundays:

The grocery stores are open for a short time in the morning Sundays. Otherwise all stores are closed.
